BMW G 310 GS

BMW Motorrad has launched the 2020 G 310 GS in India at Rs 2.85 lakh which is significantly cheaper than the BS4 motorcycle that retailed at Rs 3.49 lakh.

Design:

BMW has updated the G 310 GS with a set of new colours. The BMW G 310 GS ‘Style Rallye’, features a black base colour with contrasting red and blue paintwork. It also features a bigger ‘GS’ logo on the fuel tank and the Rallye sticker. The frame is now painted red as well, unlike the older bike’s black-coloured frame.

The BMW G 310 GS is available in the special ’40 years GS’ paint scheme that commemorates four decades of the BMW GS and is inspired by the BMW R 100 GS. Apart from the paint schemes, the rest of the body panels including the fuel tank and the wheels remain unchanged.

Features:

BMW has provided the motorcycle with all LED lighting including the indicators and tail lamps. The motorcycle also gets new adjustable levers, for improved ergonomics.

However, a TFT display instrument cluster is not available, unlike its cousin, the TVS Apache RR 310. Instead, it continues to use an LCD, full-digital display.

Engine

The G 310 GS is powered by a fuel-injected, BS6 compliant, 313cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine which produces 34hp and 28Nm torque through a 6 speed gearbox with a slipper clutch  using ride-by-wire system. The motorcycle can accelerate from 0-50kph in 2.5s and can hit a top speed of 143kph.

The G 310 GS employs the same steel trellis frame, USD telescopic fork and mono shock.

Warranty

The G 310 GS is available with a standard 3 years, unlimited kilometres warranty. Customers can extend the warranty by two years, by paying Rs.16,250. However, the first 500 customers can get this extended warranty at a special price of Rs.5,499.
