Tata Motors launches JET edition of Nexon, Harrier, Safari

Tata Motors, India’s leading automotive brand and the country’s #1 SUV brand by sales, today launched an all new #JET Edition for its line-up of successful mid to high SUVs. Commencing the festive season on a high note, this unique and luxurious line-up is inspired by ‘Business Jets’, which will appeal to a set of customers who love opulence and want to soar high in luxury. The #JET Edition takes indulgence to the next level by offering top of the line features along with an exclusive exterior and interior colour theme. This one-of-a-kind edition includes Tata Motors’ flagship 6/7-seater SUV – the Safari, the company’s premium 5-seater SUV – the Harrier and India’s no. 1 SUV - the Tata Nexon. Launched at attractive prices, the #JET Edition will be available across all Tata Motors authorized dealerships, starting today.

The #JET Edition in detail:

The new #JET Edition features an artful blend of class, grandeur and luxury to enhance the overall look and feel of the cars. Through this, Tata Motors is offering a seamless, comfortable, and uber-luxurious experience similar to a business class travel. The brand new #JET Edition will be available in a unique exterior colour – Starlight - a dual-tone combination of earthy bronze body and a platinum silver roof. Its Jet black alloy wheels and silver skid plates at the front and rear will enhance the exterior opulence of the car, giving it a premium and upmarket appeal. The interior in its luxurious dual-tone Oyster White & Granite black, truly resonates with the exclusivity of #JET Edition, bringing in the touch and feel of luxe. The techno-steel bronze finish mid-pad is the centre of attraction on the instrument panel along with the bronze accents on doors and floor consoles which elevate the overall ambience of the cars. #JET embroidery on the front headrests and deco stitching on the seats in a bronze thread, makes the car more thematic and a complete package of style, comfort and extravagance.

Tata Harrier and Safari #JET Edition

Tata Motors’ premium and flagship SUV– the Harrier and Safari respectively will now sport an enhanced appeal with a dual-tone colour scheme that will enrich the overall appeal of these mighty SUVs. Both cars will now be equipped with advanced ESP safety functions such as Driver Doze off alert, Panic Brake alert, After Impact Braking. These features will be over and above the existing 14 safety functions. Additionally, the inclusion of a C type USB charger in all rows for both cars, Winged Comfort Head Restraints on the second row bench and captain seats (only in the Safari), Electronic parking brake in manual and automatic along with all 4 disc brakes ( new to the Harrier ), the Harrier and the Safari will now boast their most magnificent avatar. They will also include a Wireless Android Auto/ Apple Carplay, Air purifier and a Wireless charger. Adding to this magnificent and indulgent feel, the interiors are further elevated with the addition of elements such as the Tri- Arrow perforated Oyster White – Benecke-Kaliko leatherette seats, various exquisite Bronze inserts and an upmarket appeal.

Tata Nexon #JET Edition

In addition to all the features of the #JET range combined with the luxuries of the top end model like ventilated seats, electric sunroof with tilt function, air purifier with AQi display amongst others, the Nexon #JET Edition will also boast of a wireless charger.

Honda Jazz 2020

From what is expected, the new 2020 Jazz receives updates on the exterior. A fresh look at the front and rear is something which is most likely while the overall profile remains similar. The version displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo displays updates like LED DRL’s, Projector headlamps, new dual tone alloy wheels, LED tail lamps.

The new Jazz at the auto Expo also displays many changes to the interior. A new Dashboard, a two spoke steering wheel, new touch screen infotainment system, white highlights and an all new centre console, magic rear seats, cruise control, auto headlamps and auto wipers.

We aren’t sure if all the updates would land in India but we do expect the Indian version of the 2020 Jazz to come with some updates, if not all.

The debuted version also comes with many safety features such as an electric parking brake, ABS, EBD, SENSING technology which is Honda’s collision mitigation braking using a wide angle camera in the front and eight sonar sensors.

Engine options for the India bound Honda Jazz 2020 could remain the same- the 1.2 Litre i-VTEC that produces 90 PS of power, 110 NM of torque and the 1.5 Litre i-DTEC engine that produces 100 PS, 200 NN of torque would most probably be upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms. The petrol option currently comes with a 5 speed manual and CVT transmission while the diesel option comes mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox only. However, the new Jazz Diesel could receive CVT transmission from the Diesel Honda Amaze.

When launched officially in India, the 2020 Honda Jazz will compete with Toyota Glanza, Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz. While it would feel more premium than the outgoing model, prices are expected to stay between Rs. 5.50 Lakhs and Rs. 9.50 Lakhs (ex- showroom).

2020 Skoda Rapid TSI Automatic Launched in India Price Starts from 9.49 Lakh

Skoda India has officially launched the Automatic range of their best selling Rapid mid size Sedan. Launched earlier this year, the BS6 Rapid TSI was available with only a 6 speed manual transmission till now.

The Skoda Rapid BS6 is available with a 1.0L TSI 3 cyl turbo petrol engine only producing 110PS Power and 175NM Torque. The manufacturer has introduced a new 6 speed torque converter automatic transmission which is the same as on the Polo and Vento TSI.

This Automatic gearbox is available on all except the entry level Rider variant of the Rapid TSI:

Launch & price:

The new Automatic range of the Skoda Rapid TSI is priced from Rs9.49L to Rs13.29L (Ex-showroom prices); at a premium of around ?1.5L over the manual variants. The new Rapid TSI competes against the likes of the VW Vento TSI, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, the new Honda City and the Toyota Yaris.

Tata Harrier XT+ Variant Launched with Panaromic Sunroof, priced at 16.99 lakh

Based on the XT variant, this new XT+ variant offers a massive Panoramic Electric sunroof in addition to the standard features. This panoramic sunroof is claimed to be best in class with anti pinch, global closure and rain sense closure features similar to that of the top spec XZ+ variant.

Other than this feature, the XT+ will carry forward the same specifications as on the XT variant. Standard features will include:

The New Harrier XT+ variant, just like all variants of the Harrier will be available with a diesel engine mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. From the XM variant onwards, the Harrier is available with three drive modes; Eco, City and Sport.

Launch & price:

The new Harrier XT+ variant is priced at RS 16.99L ex-showroom. Priced at around RS 50,000 more than the standard XT variant, this new variant could effectively compete against the similarly priced and equipped Hyundai Creta while offering better value for money and attracting buyers preferring a panoramic sunroof.
