India’s safest hatchback, Tata ALTROZ, turns two! Marks the celebration with the addition of ALTROZ XT and XZ+ (diesel) to its #DARK range

Mumbai, February 9, 2021: Keeping the New Forever brand promise, Tata Motors, India’s leading automotive brand, today celebrated the 2nd anniversary of its premium hatchback – The ALTROZ, by extending the #DARK edition to its XT and XZ+ (diesel) trims. Since launch in July 2021, the ALTROZ #DARK has received an overwhelming response and there have been consumer requests to extend to additional trims. This extension is aimed at expanding its customer base and introducing premium styling & popular features. With bookings starting today, the ALTROZ #DARK XT will be available at authorized Tata Motors dealership at an introductory price of INR 7.96 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

The ALTROZ #DARK XT and XZ+ will carry forward the imposing persona of #DARK through its exterior and interior design. It will come with host of premium features including perforated leatherette seats, rear armrest, #DARK tint Hyper-style wheels, height adjustable driver seat, rear headrest, front adjustable seat belts, leather wrapped steering wheels, leather wrapped gear knob and more. #DARK Mascot on the new XT variant along with the dark theme exterior and interior will further accentuate the bold and premium appeal at the mid variants. Adding to the above, the top-of-the-line XZ+ variant will now be offered with new additional safety features like Brake Sway Control and iTPMS. (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) to make the car more desirable & safe.

Being the first vehicle on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture, the ALTROZ has always set #TheGoldStandard and has been appreciated for its design and safety.     Jeep has updated its Compass model in India by giving it BS-6 compliant engines, including an automatic gearbox option but in terms of looks, much remains the same. Prices of the updated Compass start at 16.49 Lakh Rupees. The 1.4 Litre Turbo Petrol Engine with 163 HP and a 2.0 Litre Turbo diesel with 173 HP powers this popular SUV.

    News is that the Jeep Compass will soon receive updates in the guise of a facelift variant that will have updated headlights, updated front grille and bumpers. Changes to the interiors are also on the cards including an all new Infotainment

    System called the UConnect 5. Apart from having Android Auto and Apple Car Play, this connected Infotainment System also features Amazon Alexa and can receive updates over the air.     The refreshed look could appeal to buyers in the premium SUV segment. The facelifted Jeep Compass would compete with MG Hector, Hyundai Creta 2020 Kia Seltos, Skoda Karoq and the Volkswagen T-Roc.

    We also hear that there is also a seven- seater Compass based SUV in the pipeline which is expected to compete with Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Isuzu MU-X but will most likely be introduced early next year.

    The Tata Tiago is one among the best small hatchbacks in India and it is also the best seller for Tata motors. It offers segment best safety standards, comfortable cabin and robust mechanicals.     The XT Variant gets a 2DIN audio system with 4 Harman speakers which sound impressive. The head unit offers reverse sensor monitor with NaviMaps & Juke car app compatibility as well. The steering mounted audio controls are now a part of standard equipment on this Variant with a price increase of just Rs.1000. The Tiago XT now is priced at Rs.5.34L ex showroom.

    Apart from the additional feature, the new range of Tata Tiagos manufactured since the month of August will receive a updated front door pad design. The armrest and grab handles receive a new and more premium design with changes made to the locking mechanism as well.

    Gone are the Maruti 800 style pop up door locks and that have made way to a conventional and more aesthetically pleasing design. The door lock lever is now integrated with the door handle, which itself is now sleeker and robust. The top spec XZ+ Variant is expected to receive a metal finish on the door handle with piano Black finish on the armrest.

    There is no price increase for this design change and the rest of the car and features remain the same.


    The exterior sports a new, refreshed look. Compare it to the old versions of the car and you’ll see Hyundai has come a pretty long way with this one. A huge grille up front, sleek side profile, diamond cut alloy wheels, updated rear profile with LED tail lamps and updates to the tech have made this car a feature rich option for the masses that prefer an attractive sedan.

    Not only in terms of variants, the face lifted Verna comes with two petrol and one diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four cylinder petrol  engine churns out 115PS and 144 Nm of torque, a 1.5-litre diesel that churns out 115PS of power and 250Nm of Torque and lastly, a 1.0-litre three cylinder turbo-petrol GDI engine that delivers 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is offered with the choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT while the 1.5-litre diesel gets a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic option. The turbo-petrol engine meanwhile comes with a 7-speed DCT option only.

     

    Speaking of refreshed updates- Hyundai offers the new 2020 Verna with BlueLink connected car technology that keeps one connected with the car through a smartphone. While it continues to feature ventilated front seats and wireless charging. Hands-free boot opening, a sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front parking sensors, safety features such as ABS with EBD, hill start assist, curtain air bags rear parking sensors, and speed alert warning are a part of the package spread across different variants.
