The Tata Altroz premium hatchback soon will get 1.2 turbo-petrol engine option and a new 7 Speed Dry DCT automatic gearbox options in India. Only the top-spec variant will get this automatic option. As per the several media source the DCT equipped Altroz will deliver better performance due to low kerb weight(1058kg).

Tata Motors new premium hatchback, the Altroz has successfully established itself among Indian car buyers since it's launch. The standard Altroz is available with either a 1.2L Revotron Naturally aspirated 3 cylinder petrol or a 1.5L Revotorq 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine. The 86PS petrol engine is fine for

average users, however, it’s not enough for the enthusiasts.

Tata motors had already hinted at a Turbocharged petrol engine option on the Altroz. The turbo version of the shrugs Altroz has been spotted testing on public roads numerous times as well. Now, however, the powertrain specifications and variant details have been leaked online. Here are the details on the new Altroz turbo petrol:

• Will be available with a 1.2L Revotron 3 cyl turbo petrol engine similar to the Tata Nexon.

• Will produce a maximum power of 110PS (108bhp) and torque of 140NM through a 5 speed Manual gearbox.

• Will be available with a Sport mode instead of the Economy mode.

• Will also include Engine auto Start/Stop system on specific variants.

• The turbo petrol option is likely to be available only on the top-spec variant.

• The 'Tectonic Blue’ shade from the Nexon will also be made available on the Altro.

• A DCT dry clutch automatic transmission option is expected to arrive very soon.

      Though there won't be significant cosmetic changes on the Turbo petrol variants except for the “Turbo” badge at the rear, the higher trim levels are expected to receive some new features such as 60:40 split-folding rear seats and connected car tech.

Pricing for the new turbo petrol equipped version is expected to start from Rs.7.99L for the XT variant and go up to Rs.8.75L for the XZ(O) variant. (All prices ex-showroom) Stay tuned for further updates on the Tata Altroz turbo version.

Ford is currently developing an MPV for the Indian market jointly with Mahindra. Some new details have emerged online.

The new Marazzo-based Ford MPV  is likely to be equipped with the same 2.2-litre Mhawk diesel engine, instead of a 1.5-litre unit. This new mid-size MPV will rival the Toyota Innova Crysta. it is also likely that this MPV will feature a 6 speed manual along with the 6-speed torque converter gearbox seen on the XUV500 and the Thar. A new 1.5L M-stallion turbo petrol engine is also expected.

The new Ford MPV will have a completely different body design, with typical Ford

design language and Ford's DNA. It will also have a different interior, which will look similar to Ford’s other vehicles sold globally and will also feature 7/8 seating options. The new MPV will also feature Ford exclusive technology along with Ford’s Sync infotainment system, just like its other models. 

Additionally, Ford and Mahindra are also currently working on a new B-segment SUV that is expected to be launched later next year.

All these upcoming new Ford models will be designed by Mahindra-owned Pininfarina.

On further news, the current-gen Ford EcoSport is also likely to get Mahindra’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine.

Mahindra and Mahindra Launched the new generation Thar SUV. The new Thar is based on an all new platform featuring lots of new features and new petrol engine option with automatic gearbox. With this new gen Thar, Mahindra have made it more road and user friendly. Here are all the details on the new Indian made lifestyle SUV.

Exterior:

    The new Mahindra Thar has grown in every dimension while maintaining the traditional Thar design. With a wider track and longer wheelbase, the Thar now resembles the Jeep Wrangler. The front grille and the bumpers are quite different in design though. The higher

spec LX variants also feature LED DRLs along with 18” alloy wheels. The lower spec AX variants get 16” Steel rims. The new Thar will be available either as a Hard top on the LX variants or with a fixed or convertible soft top on the AX variants. As standard all variants come with a tailgate mounted spare wheel with the LX variant getting a full size alloy wheel.

Interior:

    The interior of the new gen Thar gets revolutionary changes when compared to the previous model. The design, layout and materials are vastly superior with more creature comfort and features.

The new gen Thar will be available in two variant series; the Adventure focused AX series and the feature oriented LX series.

The 2.2L MHawk turbo diesel engine produces 130PS Power and 300NM torque through either a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed Torque converter automatic gearbox (only on LX variants). Mahindra's new 2.0L MStallion turbo petrol engine will be debuting on the new Thar, producing Max Power of 150PS and torque of 320NM. The turbo petrol will be available with a 6 speed manual transmission only on the AX variants and with a 6 speed automatic transmission only on the LX variants.

All Thar variants will be available with a standard manual Shift-on the fly 4X4 transfer gear box with diff locks.
