Kawasaki has been teasing them riders with short clips of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R. Jumping straight to the heart of the matter, what has been the most fascinating point of this motorcycle is the engine. A 250cc, inline four motor is just what every biker would yearn for. Not just for the performance but also mostly for the kind of tunes it would produce. Just like the old days when 250cc four cylinder motors revved up to around 20000 rpm. Not that this one would but 17000 rpm is still sounds very, very exciting.

There are rumours that there could be two variants of this motorcycle but the news of its official launch date in Indonesia is still not out. We suspect it could happen once the world is out of the Covid- 19 menace. Showcased in the Tokyo Motor Show, the Ninja Zx-25R takes a lot of styling from the Ninja ZX-10R. Obviously, this has been the trend for quite sometime.

Princing is expected to hover around the equivalent of 5 Lakh Rupees in the Indonesia. Now, you would think that sort of money is pretty high for a 250cc motorcycle. But, this new Ninja’s four cylinder motor is expected to have a power output between 50 and 60 PS which in our books is a great! Combine that kind of power with the its lightweight body. What you’d get is a power to weight ratio that matches some big motorcycles.

In fact, that sort of power would surpass the kind of competition that 300cc- 400cc single cylinder motorcycles offer. The Ninja ZX-25R’s performance package and the its sleek, sharp stance could mostly make is a highly desirable track tool, ready to keep up with some of the big boys for almost a fraction of the price as it would attract lesser taxes, lesser insurance premiums. What’s even better is that one would get the inline four soundtrack that you often get from big capacity motorcycles and, one would also save on maintenance money as the Ninja ZX-25R would be cheaper to maintain than the bigger monsters.

From what we’ve seen in the videos released by Kawasaki, the ZX-25R could come with adjustable suspension at the front and back, electronics in the form of rider aids like traction control, quick shifter and ABS. Once launched, the Ninja would be available in Indonesia initially. But the arrival of this dream motorcycle to India isn’t confirmed, mostly owing to the high value price tag it would attract via the CKD route. In fact, it could get more expensive than a Kawasaki Ninja 400. As a result, enthusiasts would definitely think a lot before buying such an expensive 250cc motorcycle. But, this could be the least expensive inline- four motorcycle one could get their hands on. Would you buy it?

2020 Honda WRV Facelift

Honda has launched the new WR-V facelift after the delays due to Corona virus pandemic. The updated WR-V is available with a petrol and diesel engine options.

Exterior:

On the outside, the new WR-V gets more aggressive front and rear bumpers with a new grille with horizontal slats, new LED projector headlamps, new LED tail lamps, LED DRLs and roof rails. Additionally, both the petrol and diesel versions get separate new 16” alloy wheel designs.

Interior:

The interior gets new design pattern on the upholstery and updated quality materials. Features like Power windows, electric foldable ORVMs, 16” alloy wheels, driver seat height adjust, 7”

Digipad2.0 touchscreen system, reverse camera, automatic climate control and projector headlamps are standard on both the variants of the new WR-V facelift.

The VX variant additionally gets LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, front center armrest, cruise control, electric sunroof, Smart key with push button start and a leather wrap steering wheel.

Engines:

The new WR-V is available with BS6 complaint 1.2L petrol and 1.5L Diesel engines producing 90PS & 100PS of maximum power and 110NM and 200NM of Peak Torque respectively. The petrol is available with a 5 speed manual transmission while the Diesel is available with a 6 speed manual gearbox.

Price:

The new WR-V will take on the BS6 versions of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford Ecosport. The petrol versions of the WR-V are priced at ?8.5L & ?9.7L while the diesel versions are priced at ?9.8L & ?10.99L for the SV & VX variants respectively. Honda is additionally offering the WR-V with a 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty as standard to provide peace of mind & hassle free experience to its customers.

Toyota Fortuner Facelift Bookings Open - What's New?

Toyota India is preparing to launch the facelifted Toyota Fortuner by early next year. Bookings have commenced unofficially for the new facelifted SUV at select dealerships for an advance of ?50,000.

Exterior:

The majority of the upgrades will occur at the front end of the Fortuner. The new model will feature a new grille, LED headlights with LED DRLs, redesigned fog lights and a new silver skid plate. Other changes will include redesigned 18” alloy wheels and re-profiled LED taillights.

Interior:

Thailand features an all-black interior with a new instrument cluster and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The Fortuner Legender edition also offers a powered tailgate with the swipe-to-open function, wireless charging and a 360-degree parking camera. Similar to the facelifted Innova Crysta, the new Fortuner will also include Android Auto and Apple carplay finally.

Powertrains:

The first powertrain for the facelifted Fortuner will be the 2.7L petrol engine which produces 166 PS and 245 Nm through either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The Thai-spec Fortuner gets a new 2.8L turbo-diesel engine which produces 204 PS and 500 Nm. This engine is expected to be introduced in the Indian model as well. While all the models will be 2WD as standard, only the diesel will get a 4WD option.

Price:

The current BS6 Toyota Fortuner is available from ?28.66 lakh to ?36.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted model is expected to cost around ?50,000 more.

Ford Puma ST - 197phb Hot Crossover SUV - All You Need To Know

Ford Motor Company has launched the new Ford Puma ST. This is the third model to join Ford’s ST performance line-up, following the Fiesta and the Focus. The Fiesta ST’s chassis has only received minor tweaks from its transition to the Puma’s crossover body. The rear torsion bar is 40 per cent stiffer to compensate for the extra weight and height.

Exterior:

The Puma is spruced up by the ST-specific styling pack. The front gets a new grille design with ST badging, while a splitter increases front downforce by 80 percent over the standard

car. The back gets a larger rear wing and diffuser help to balance out the extra downforce at the other end. The Puma ST is also available in the new ‘Mean Green’ shade with a total of 5 color options. The roof and spoiler, front grille surrounds, side trim and door mirror caps are always painted black while the new 19 inch alloy wheels complete the look.

Interior:

Inside, the Puma’s cabin also gets the ST treatment; including a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a sporty gear knob and pedals, along with Sporty Recaro front seats. However still, the ST’s boot retains the hose-down 80-litre ‘Mega Box’ from other Pumas, and the 456-litre volume is retained.

Powertrain and Performance:

Mechanically, the Puma ST is very closely related to the Fiesta ST. The 1.5-litre turbocharged Ecoboost engine is the same, though a revised exhaust system has been tuned to be ever so slightly more civilised. This engine produces a power output of 197bhp and 320Nm through a 6 speed manual gearbox to the front wheels. With launch control engaged, the Puma cracks the 0-62mph benchmark in 6.7 seconds – two tenths down on the Fiesta, while the 137mph top speed has dropped by 7mph.

The Puma ST also offers multiple driving modes. ‘Sport’ sharpens the throttle and adds weight to the steering compared to ‘Normal’, and it opens up valves in the exhaust to provide a sportier soundtrack. Switch into ‘Track’, and the traction control switches off and the intervention from the stability program relaxes – though this can still be turned off completely if the driver wishes. At the other end of the scale, ‘Eco’ mode makes the most of a stop/start system and cylinder deactivation to help reduce fuel consumption. Based on the official WLTP testing procedure, the Puma ST achieves 40.9mpg and emits 155g/km of CO2.

The Puma ST’s steering system is claimed to be 25 per cent quicker than the standard Puma’s, and buyers will be offered the option of a Quaife mechanical limited-slip differential to improve traction on corner exit. This also works in conjunction with a torque vectoring system which activates the brakes on the inside wheel to help the Puma hug a tighter line through corners. The Puma ST gets larger brake discs which measure 325mm at the front and 271mm at the back, and are housed within 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.

The Puma ST is expected to go on sale in Europe by early 2021 and will cost from £28,500.
