News is that the Jeep Compass will soon receive updates in the guise of a facelift variant that will have updated headlights, updated front grille and bumpers. Changes to the interiors are also on the cards including an all new Infotainment System called the UConnect 5. Apart from having Android Auto and Apple Car Play, this connected Infotainment System also features Amazon Alexa and can receive updates over the air. In terms of size, the screen size goes up to a massive 12.3 inches which would be one of the highest in class if introduced in India. It has become

a rather popular trend in SUVs that sport large Infotainment screens.

The refreshed look could appeal to buyers in the premium SUV segment. The facelifted Jeep Compass would compete with MG Hector, Hyundai Creta 2020 Kia Seltos, Skoda Karoq and the Volkswagen T-Roc.

We also hear that there is also a seven- seater Compass based SUV in the pipeline which is expected to compete with Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Isuzu MU-X but will most likely be introduced early next year.

 

Toyota India is preparing to launch the facelifted Toyota Fortuner by early next year. Bookings have commenced unofficially for the new facelifted SUV at select dealerships for an advance of ?50,000.

Exterior:

The majority of the upgrades will occur at the front end of the Fortuner. The new model will feature a new grille, LED headlights with LED DRLs, redesigned fog lights and a new silver skid plate. Other changes will include redesigned 18” alloy wheels and re-profiled LED taillights.

Interior:

The new Fortuner launched in

Thailand features an all-black interior with a new instrument cluster and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The Fortuner Legender edition also offers a powered tailgate with the swipe-to-open function, wireless charging and a 360-degree parking camera. Similar to the facelifted Innova Crysta, the new Fortuner will also include Android Auto and Apple carplay finally. 

Powertrains:

The first powertrain for the facelifted Fortuner will be the 2.7L petrol engine which produces 166 PS and 245 Nm through either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The Thai-spec Fortuner gets a new 2.8L turbo-diesel engine which produces 204 PS and 500 Nm. This engine is expected to be introduced in the Indian model as well. While all the models will be 2WD as standard, only the diesel will get a 4WD option.

Price:

The current BS6 Toyota Fortuner is available from ?28.66 lakh to ?36.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted model is expected to cost around ?50,000 more.

Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled their next generation All-new Tucson SUV on 14th September. The Tucson has been one among their most popular products and the new model is expected to attract even more customers through its cutting-edge design, class leading digital capabilities, dynamic ride and handling and excellent fuel efficiency. This here is a quick walkthrough on the highlights of this new Tucson SUV.

Exterior:

       The new Hyundai Tucson, sports a unique and radical design language. On the front fascia, the Tucson features the new “Parametric Hidden Lights” design, in which the headlamps blend

in with the Jewel-like cascading grille itself. The 2021 Tucson will be longer and wider than the current model. The sides have sharp, dynamic creases lending the SUV a much more athletic stance. The roof line features Chrome mouldings which flow from the A pillar to the tailgate whereas the LED Tail lamps are connected by long LED bar. The new Tucson also receives unique looking 18 & 19” alloy wheels.

Interior:

       The new Hyundai Tucson’s INTERSPACE interior features a design layout similar to the Hyundai Creta, with a wraparound design and waterfall like center console. The Tucson also receives soft touch premium materials all around.

The interior is expected to sport a flowing cockpit theme while being loaded with features.

The Tucson will also be available with Hyundai's HTRAC all-wheel-drive system with multiple drive modes; Eco, Comfort, Smart, Sport, Mud, Sand & Snow.

Launch & price:

       The all-new Tucson goes on sale in Korea in September as a 2021 model. It will go on sale in the U.S. and other global markets as a 2022 model starting from the first half of 2021.
