Ford Bronco 2020 - All You Need To Know

After it was stopped in 1996, Ford has been planning to re- introduce the Bronco. News is that the Bronco has a smaller sibling as well – the Bronco Sport which will be available with three different types of grilles- Modern, Classic, and Custom.

Ford says the new Bronco will be a body- on- frame 4x4 built to take on some of the toughest terrains. Features include a solid rear axle and an Air Roof while Ford’s Terrain Management System, Trail Control and a novel active suspension could be optional features.

Also on the cards could be a more hardcore version of the Bronco called the Wolftrak and a raptor version most probably having a V8 engine. Speaking of the looks, the Bronco sports a boxy and edgy design with round headlamps, thereby resembling with the original Bronco.

Many patent applications suggest what appears to be a very unique concept. Several parts of the Bronco’s body could be removable like doors and the roof to allow open- air motoring. Ford has also patented a safety system which uses telescopic beams to protect drivers in a crash when the doors are removed. The Bronco could come with 10 colours as per the leaked color palette.

With the ongoing trend of Ford’s EcoBoost Engines, the Bronco could get one as well. It could most likely receive a 2.3 litre EcoBoost unit that produces 270 Horsepower and 420 NM of torque mated to a 10 Speed Automatic. A hybrid and a V8 engine are also expected.

It is also highly likely that the Ford Bronco could receive the Twin Turbocharged 2.7 litre V6 engine from the F-150 that produces 325 HP and 542 NM of torque. The off roader would be produced at Ford’s plant in Wayne, Michigan. From the looks of it, Ford plans to offer the Bronco in America initially as there are no reports of plans to offer the Bronco in other markets globally. However, Ford has filed for a Trademark on Bronco in Europe. That should say a lot.

The Bronco could be priced around 35,000$ in USA. It was expected to be featured at the 2020 New York Auto Show that got cancelled. We expect the official unveiling to occur sometime in the last quarter of 2020.

Tata Altroz Turbo Petrol wil be launched soon!

Tata Motors’ new premium hatchback, the Altroz has successfully established itself among Indian car buyers since it's launch in January 2020. The standard Altroz is available with either a 1.2L Revotron Naturally aspirated 3 cylinder petrol or a 1.5L Revotorq 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine. The 86PS petrol engine is fine for average users, however it’s definitely not enough for the enthusiasts.

Tata motors had already hinted at a Turbocharged petrol engine option on the Altroz. The turbo version of the shrugs Altroz has been spotted testing on public roads numerous times as well. Now, however the powertrain specifications and variant

details have been leaked online. Here are the details on the new Altroz turbo petrol:

Will be available with a 1.2L Revotron 3 cyl turbo petrol engine similar to the Tata Nexon.
Will produce maximum power of 110PS (108bhp) and torque of 140NM through a 5 speed Manual gearbox.
Will be available with a Sport mode instead of the Economy mode.
Will also include Engine auto Start/Stop system on specific variants.
The turbo petrol option is likely to be available on XT, XT(O), XZ and XZ(O) variants.
The 'Tectonic Blue’ shade from the Nexon will also be made available on the Altroz.
A DCT wet clutch automatic transmission option too is expected to arrive very soon.

Though there won't be significant cosmetic changes on the Turbo petrol variants except for the “Turbo” badge at the rear, the higher trim levels are expected to receive some new features such as 60:40 split folding rear seats and connected car tech.

Pricing for the new turbo petrol equipped version is expected to start from Rs.7.99L for the XT variant and go up to Rs.8.75L for the XZ(O) variant. (All prices ex showroom) Stay tuned for further updates on the Tata Altroz turbo version.

Renault Kiger Sub Compact SUV

Renault India has launched their new Kiger compact SUV. The new Kiger is based on the CMF-A+ platform which is also shared with the Nissan Magnite. The Kiger offers two petrol engines with both, manual and automatic gearbox options. This is the first compact SUV from Renault to go on sale.

Exterior:

The new Renault Kiger features a familiar design language previously seen on the Kwid. It features a coupe-like design with a muscular stance. The grille and headlights have been significantly upgraded compared to the Kwid though. The grille is larger and gets more Chrome treatment, similar to the Triber and

is flanked by LED DRLs which also include the indicators. The actual headlamps are located lower down in the bumper and the top spec variant get Pure Vision LED headlamps. While all variants get 16” wheels as standard, the higher variants get alloy wheels. The rear features C shaped LED tail lamps and a very sculpted tailgate. The higher variants also get silver finished rear skid plate. The sides feature black decals that look like body claddings and even the higher variants don't get Chrome door handles.

Interior:

The interior of the Kiger gets a traditional, yet stylish layout. The higher Variants get an 8” touchscreen floating at the centre on top of the dash with a high centre console that also includes a large storage compartment under the armrest which can be closed by a Tambour-door sliding lid, as seen on the Tata Nexon. The top Variants get a 7” TFT instrument cluster along with two gloveboxes. The Climate control console, window and mirror controls, starter button, gear lever and the steering wheel are shared with the Nissan Magnite. The door pads are vastly different compared to the Magnite while the glovebox design is identical to the one seen on the Triber.

The Kiger also claims to have segment-besting 405L boot space as standard.

While the Nissan Magnite offered ESP, traction control, hill hold assist and brake assist as standard on all turbocharged Variants, none of the Variants of the Kiger offer those safety features.

Powertrains:

The Kiger will be offered with two petrol engine options. Both 1.0L engines are the same as seen on the Nissan Magnite. The naturally aspirated engine will produce 72PS of Max Power and 96NM of Max torque through a 5 speed Manual gearbox. Unlike the Magnite, the Kiger also offered a 5 speed AMT gearbox with this engine as an option from the RXL Variant onwards.

The turbocharged engine produces 100PS of Max Power and 160NM of Max torque with the manual transmission while the CVT Variants produce 152NM of Max torque. The base RXE Variant is not ava with the turbocharged engine option and only the RXT and RXZ turbo Variants get the option of a CVT.

Launch & price:

The Renault Kiger is expected to give tough competition to all other compact SUVs while also lasting the success streak of Renault from the launch of the Triber. The Kiger is priced neck-to-neck with the Nissan Magnite, starting from Rs.5.45L (ex-showroom) for the RXE and going up to Rs.9.55L (ex-showroom) for the top spec RXZ Turbo CVT Variant. This pricing makes the RXE Renault Kiger the most affordable compact SUV in the Indian Market today.

Ford High-Performance Vehicles, Bronco, Focus RS, Ranger Raptor will be launched soon in India

Ford Motor Company is considering to introduce its high-performance models in the Indian market including the Ranger Raptor pickup truck, Bronco 4×4, Mustang EV and Focus RS.

The Focus RS is one of the highly popular hot hatchbacks across the world and is also being considered for India. While launching a performance-based vehicle won’t help in gaining volumes, this it will help establish its image as a premium manufacturer and also the intention will reinforce the Ford DNA among the prospective Indian buyers.

These performance and lifestyle models could be brought into the country as CBU taking advantage of the relaxation in

homologation regulations.

The Bronco off-roaderder SUV could rival the Jeep Wrangler in India. The Mustang Mach E SUV features an extended range battery and RWD with the estimated EPA range of 482 km. In the AWD configuration, the Mach-E develops 332 horsepower and 565 Nm of torque, and is faster than the base Porsche Macan.

Ford is already working on next-generationtion Ranger Raptor which will borrow the engine from the popular F-150, as the 3.0-litre V6 diesel V6 puts out 255 hp and 600 Nm.

Ford India is working for B and C Segment SUV and MPV along with Mahinda (Contract Basis) which will hit road on 2022. Also, the American manufacturer will continue to refresh its existing portfolio Figo, Aspire, EcoSport, Endeavour and the Iconic Mustang.
