Tata Motors is getting ready for the launch of the Turbo petrol version of its Altroz premium hatchback on the 13th of January. Teaser images and videos have been released by the manufacturer. However, the complete details of the Altroz turbo have been leaked online as well.

Here are the details on the new Altroz turbo petrol:

• Will be available with a 1.2L Revotron 3 cyl turbo petrol engine similar to the Tata Nexon.

• Will produce maximum power of 110PS (108bhp) and torque of 140NM through a 5 speed Manual gearbox.

• Will be available with a Sport mode instead of the Economy mode.

• The turbo petrol option is likely to be available on XT, XT(O), XZ, XZ(O) and XZ+ variants.

      Though there won't be significant cosmetic changes on the Turbo petrol variants except for the “i-Turbo” badge at the rear.

The interior of all the Altroz Variants will get a new “Light grey and black” colour theme.

Hyundai India will be launching the new i20 premium hatchback by the end of this year. The i20 has been one among their best selling products and still is one among the most feature loaded hatchbacks in its category. This here is a quick walkthrough on the highlights of the new generation Hyundai i20.

Exterior: 

       The new Hyundai i20, sports a completely different design language. On the front fascia, it features a new and larger hexagonal cascading grille with a more swooping bonnet and angular headlamps. The headlamps will feature LED lighting on the top spec trims along with inverted L shaped

DRLs. Projector fog lamps are also expected to be offered. The new i20 will be longer and wider than the current model. The sides have sharp, dynamic creases lending the car a more dynamic profile. The window line features Chrome detailing which flows from the A pillar to the top of the C pillar whereas the snazzy Z-shaped LED Tail lamps are connected by a red reflector bar. The new i20 will also receive unique looking 16” alloy wheels on the top spec variants.

Interior:

       The new Hyundai i20's interior will feature a fresh and clean layout with a wraparound layered design. The interior is expected to sport a flowing cockpit theme while being loaded with features.

Powertrains:

       The new i20 is expected to be available with two petrol engine options and one diesel engine. The standard 1.2L 4 cyl Kappa petrol engine will produce 83PS Power through either a 5 Speed manual transmission or a CVT. The 1.0L 3 cyl turbo petrol powertrain is expected to be carried over from the Aura Turbo producing a maximum output of 100PS through either a 6 speed manual gearbox, or the new IMT or a 7 speed DCT. The 1.5L turbo diesel engine from the Venue is also expected to be on offer producing 100PS Power through a 6 speed manual transmission.

Launch & price:

       The all-new i20 is likely to be launched during the festive month of October this year and will go up against the new Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the new facelifted Honda Jazz and Toyota’s Glanza. Prices are expected to be around Rs20000 to Rs50000 higher than the current gen model which it will replace.

Hyundai has released a few teaser images of its new i30 N hot hatchback which will be launched soon in Europe. Here are a few highlights of this new Hyundai i30 N gathered from these images.

The new Hyundai i30N will have a dynamic design, focusing on performance and emotion. It features new and aggressive front and rear bumpers along with two large exhaust pipes. New LED headlamps and tail lamps also are visible along with the wider front grille. The images also show newly-developed 19-inch forged alloy wheels, which are lighter than those of the previous i30 N, contributing to weight

reduction in the car.

The interior layout is expected to be largely similar to the regular i30 hatchback with certain N-specific detailing and changes. Features and specifications are also expected to remain the same except for the inclusion of sportier seats and drive modes.

Hyundai has also revealed that the new i30 will be available with the company’s eight-speed dual clutch (N DCT), including dedicated N performance shifting functions. This transmission will be paired to the same 2.0L turbo petrol engine producing 250bhp as standard and 275bhp with the performance pack. This engine also produces 353NM torque as standard with power sent to the front wheels through an Electronic Limited Slip Differential.
