Hyundai India will be launching the new i20 premium hatchback in the coming weeks. Prior to its launch, the new premium hatchback has started to arrive at dealerships. There are few visible changes to the India spec i20 as compared to the European one. The i20 has been one among their best selling products and still is one among the most feature loaded hatchbacks in its category. This here is a quick walkthrough on the highlights of the new generation Hyundai i20.

Exterior: 

       The new Hyundai i20, sports a completely different design language. On the front fascia, it features a new and

larger hexagonal cascading grille with a more swooping bonnet and angular headlamps. The headlamps will feature LED lighting on the top spec trims along with DRLs. Lower variants will get Projector units. Projector fog lamps are also expected to be offered. The new i20 will be longer and wider than the current model. The sides have sharp, dynamic creases lending the car a more dynamic profile. The window line features Chrome detailing which flows from the A pillar to the top of the C pillar whereas the snazzy Z-shaped LED Tail lamps are connected by a chrome bar running across the width. The new i20 will also receive unique looking 16” alloy wheels on the top spec variants.

Interior:

       The new Hyundai i20's interior will feature a fresh and clean layout with a wraparound layered design. The interior is expected to sport a flowing cockpit theme while being loaded with features.

Powertrains:

       The new i20 is will be available with two petrol engine options and one diesel engine. The standard 1.2L 4 cyl Kappa petrol engine will produce 83PS Power through either a 5 Speed manual transmission or a CVT. The 1.0L 3 cyl turbo petrol powertrain is expected to be carried over from the Venue Turbo producing a maximum output of 120PS through either a 6 speed IMT gearbox or a 7 speed DCT. The 1.5L turbo diesel engine from the Venue is also expected to be on offer producing 100PS Power through a 6 speed manual transmission.

Launch & price:

       The all-new i20 is likely to be launched by the end of October this year and will go up against the new Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the new facelifted Honda Jazz and Toyota’s Glanza. Prices are expected to be around ?20000 to ?50000 higher than the current gen model which it will replace.

Toyota is all set to launch the Innova Crysta Facelift in India. The expected launch date will be on November 20, 2020. Already few dealerships started accepting a booking. The new photos have surfaced of this updated model from Indonesia. Here are some key highlights of this new model.

Exterior

While the overall dimensions remain exactly the same, the facelift model will feature an all-new front grille finished in glossy black with five slats while the outer portion of the grille sports chrome finishing

which is further connected to the headlights. The front fascia resembles the Toyota Highlander SUV and Hilux pick up truck to a certain extent.

The bumper has also been made to resemble an SUV and looks beefier with a faux skid plate. The fog lamps are located lower down in the bumper on the lower variants whereas the higher variants get LED DRLs integrated with the fog lamps on the regular location. There are no major changes on the sides except for the new dual-tone Alloy wheels. The rear too looks exactly the same except for minor changes in the tail lamps.

Interior

The interior of the new Crysta offers a new larger infotainment system which is expected to feature Android Auto and Apple car play. The Indian version is expected to receive a different faux wood treatment as well. Apart from these changes, the overall layout and comfort will remain the same.

Powertrain

Mechanically, no changes are expected and the updated model is expected to get the same engine options as before. The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox generates a maximum power of 150PS and maximum torque of 343NM. The 6-speed automatic-equipped diesel variants, however, generate a slightly higher torque figure of 360NM. The 2.7-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine on the other hand produces a maximum power of 167PS and Max torque of 245NM through either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed Automatic transmission.

Launch and pricing

This new facelifted Innova Crysta expected to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing models, the price could increase by Rs60000 to Rs100000. At present, the base petrol variant is available in India with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs.15.66 lakhs while the top-spec diesel variant is priced at Rs.23.63 lakhs. Nissan will be unveiling their new Magnite compact SUV later this year. This here is a quick walkthrough on the highlights of this new Compact SUV in town.

Exterior: 

The new Nissan Magnite, though being based on the Renault Triber's CMFA platform, will sport a unique and aggressive design language. The Magnite will feature a large Octagonal grille at the front of an aggressive bumper design. The new Magnite will also feature large L-shaped LED DRLs on either side of the grille. The sides will have strong muscular shoulder lines and squared-off wheel arches. The Tail lamps will receive 3D LED treatment

as well. The top trim levels will receive funky looking 16” dual-tone alloy wheels whereas the entry-level variants are expected to receive 15 inch Steel rims. A dual-tone roof option is also expected to be provided at launch.

Interior:

The new Nissan Magnite interior will feature a traditional design layout with some nice design touches. The interior is expected to sport a hexagonal theme with hexagonal AC vents, the hexagonal pattern on the seats while the centre console will house a freestanding 8-inch Touchscreen system. All the variants are expected to get a dual-tone theme. Space is expected to be comparable to other compact SUVs while also providing an ample number of features.

The top trim levels will receive Auto headlamps, Auto wipers, Cruise control, Auto climate control, a semi-digital instrument cluster similar to the Triber and armrests for the front and rear seats. The touchscreen system will also be available with Connected car features & telematics control unit through the Nissan connect app.

Practicality:

The Nissan Magnite is expected to offer boot space compared to other compact SUVs in its class complementing all the storage options in the cabin. All variants will get flat-folding rear seats too.

Safety:

The new Nissan Magnite will be providing dual airbags with ABS and EBD as standard across all variants. The top variants will also receive Side airbags similar to the Renault Triber along with Vehicle stability management, Electronic Stability Control, Hill hold control and smart key access system.

Powertrains:

The new Nissan Magnite will feature two petrol engine options. The entry-level variants will receive the 1.0l 3 cyl petrol engine from the Renault Triber producing 72PS power through a 5 speed Manual gearbox while the higher variants will be available with a new 1.0L 3 cyl turbo petrol engine producing 95PS power through either a 5-speed gearbox or a CVT gearbox.

Launch & price:

This Nissan Magnite will go on sale by early next year and compete against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford Ecosport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the new Kia Sonet. Prices are expected to start from around ?6L on road for the base petrol variant and go up to ?11L for the top-spec automatic variants.
