Suzuki’s popular Swift has been around for many years. After all, the Japanese manufacturer has been giving it all the important touches and updates over time, making it seem fresh and ageless.

After its latest update in 2016, the Suzuki Swift has now been launched in Japan with many changes and we could expect to see this in India towards the last quarter of 2020. Not only are the updates just cosmetic, we expect to see some changes related to engine and performance too!

Expected Features: The new Swift won’t have too many significant changes in terms of looks. Small changes like

a new grille and a redesigned front bumper could make it look like it got a much needed change but the overall look remains the same. Images also suggest a new look in terms of skirts and new alloy wheels. Auto folding ORVMs, cruise control feature, a new 4.2 inch MID colour display and new upholstery to refresh the feel inside could be a part of the new Facelifted Swift.  However, not much could be said about additions in terms of safety features as they remain the same. Electronic Stability Control and hill hold assist could new additions to the AMT variants.

 

Price:
The new facelifted Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to cost Rs. 20,000 more than the outgoing model. So prices could start at around 5.5 Lakhs and go all the way upto Rs. 8.20 Lakhs (Ex- Showroom Delhi).

 

Engine and Performance: The new Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Swift 2021 could be launched with a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine as seen on the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The new engine produces 90PS power, 7PS more than the current Swift’s petrol engine while the torque remains unchanged at 113NM. We do think that’s a good step taken towards offering more power.

In terms of fuel efficiency, we expect the new Swift to fetch similar mileage figures as the existing Maruti Suzuki Swift. Howver, the engine in question comes with an idle start-stop feature which could help improve overall fuel efficiency. Speaking of the transmission, Maruti will continue to offer the facelifted Swift the 5 speed manual and AMT gearbox. Keeping in mind the BS6 norms, there would be no diesel engine on offer in the facelifted Swift.

 

So, would the new Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Swift make you want to buy it? Or, would you consider any of the other hatchbacks in the market like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle, Hyundai i20 and the Volkswagen Polo?

 

The Ford Ecosport is still one among the best compact SUVs in India despite being the oldest. It offers lot of standard features from the entry level Variant itself, including an audio system. The Trend variant onwards get a 9” touchscreen system. However only the Sports variant with 8” touchscreen gets Android auto/Apple carplay and SYNC 3 compatibility. The Trend, Titanium and the Titanium plus get a Fly audio system with (Windows) WINCE OS.

However now, the Ecosport Trend, Titanium , Titanium plus and the Thunder Variants will get an updated touchscreen system with Android OS. The infotainment system in the

Trend, Thunder, Titanium and Titanium+ variants of the Ford EcoSport will now run on Android operating system.

This new features will be available from the following Vin Cut-off for the EcoSport Models.

Being Android based, the infotainment unit will now include Wi-Fi features like Over the Air (OTA) updates, enabling customers to upgrade the system software on their own. It will also provide live traffic updates for Offline MMI maps and conference call functionality enabling to speak with up to 3 individuals at a time.

The Trend, Titanium, Titanium plus and Sports variants manufactured in August 2020 onwards will get this upgrade. However, existing vehicles with Windows based Fly Audio cannot be converted to the Android based OS due to difference of hardware compatibility.

Hyundai has unveiled the new Sonata N line trim which will be expanding the midsize sedan line up. It is essentially a cosmetically updated version inspired by Hyundai's performance N brand. Here are a few highlights of this new Hyundai Sonata N line trim.

Exterior:

       The new Hyundai Sonata N line will have a dynamic design, focusing on 'Sensuous Sportiness' identity. It features new and aggressive front and rear bumpers along with dual twin exhaust pipes. The large Cascading grille is finished in glossy black and also has N line special branding. New 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels along with body skirts are

also available.

Interior:

        The interior layout is largely similar to the regular Sonata with certain N-specific detailing and changes. Features and specifications are also expected to remain the same except for the inclusion of sportier body-hugging seats, Signature red stitching and dark Chrome trim.

Powertrain:

The Hyundai Sonata N line will be available with the same 2.5L GDI and 1.6L TGDI engine options mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and expected over 275 horsepower.

Launch and Price:

       The new Sonata N line is likely to be launched in the USA in the coming weeks with a marginal price increase over the regular variants. Stay tuned for further details on Hyundai's N line range.
