Hyundai Motor has unveiled their next contender for the premium hatchback segment in India- the 2020 Hyundai i20. The new avatar is entirely different from what it was earlier and thankfully, we can call this an upgrade because the changes are not just cosmetic outside. The changes take place inside the cabin and to the engines as well. The Indian version of the 2020 Hyundai i20 is expected to have most of the features offerer in the European Spec. The Hyundai i20 has been one of the most popular hatchbacks in India, giving tough competition to its rivals like Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altroz. While it has been a hot selling unit for Hyundai Motor in India, the upgraded version is expected to do even better considering the features on offer and the price.

The Europe-spec 2020 Hyundai i20 displays a big new grille in the front. Thankfully, the headlamps too have been redesigned and are LED units with LED DRLs. Not only that, the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned. The new model also gets 17- inch alloy wheels.

The rear hasn't been left out by Hyundai either. The new Hyundai i20 2020 gets LED taillights, shark fin antenna and rear spoiler. We are expecting these features to be made available in the India-spec i20 2020 as well but features like 17 inch alloys maybe left out keeping in mind Indian driving conditions.

When it comes to the new Hyundai i20 2020's interior, the Europe-spec car will get a new 10.25-inch digital cluster and centre touchscreen connected to a Bose audio system with eight speakers. Wireless charging and Hyundai's BlueLink connectivity technology will also be included. A test mule was spotted in India whose cabin looked similar to the Europe Spec version with Audi- esque vents and 4 spoke steering wheel featured in the 2020 Hyundai Creta as well.

Coming to the heart of the matter, the 2020 i20 may have a few engine options which of course will be BS 6 compliant:
1. A 1.0-litre T-GDi with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system
2. A 1.2-litre MPi unit
3. 1.5 litre detuned diesel mill from the Kia Seltos

New Hyundai i20 Colours

The Europe-spec Hyundai i20 2020 gets as many as 10 colour options, with four being new. The fresh ones are Intense Blue, Aurora Gray, Aqua Turquoise and Brass. Among the already available are Polar White, Sleek Silver, Phantom Black, Dragon Red, Tomato Red and Slate Blue. There is an option for a Phantom Black roof also.

The Nissan Magnite Compact SUV Bookings Open, production version was revealed a couple weeks ago and now the price has been revealed on online before it's official launch . This new compact SUV is going to be the Make-it or Break-it product for Nissan India. Now we have got the details of the variants and features split up of the new compact SUV. Variants:

The Magnite will be sold in four variants, namely the XE, XL, XV, and the XV premium. All variants except for the entry-level XE can be ordered with either the

Exterior

The production-spec Nissan Magnite seems to retain most of the concept’s design elements including the large grille, the Sharp creases and the funky alloy wheels. It has even the same sculpted bonnet and angular headlights. Since the Magnite was originally meant to be launched as a Datsun, the grille bears resemblance to the other Datsun models.

The side profile looks muscular with prominent body cladding and large wheel arches which seem to dwarf the 16” wheels. The higher-spec variants also receive a dual-tone roof option, blacked-out pillars, and silver roof rails. At the back, the Magnite sports sharp-looking tail lamps resemble those on the Triber's, a clean tail gate, and a dual-tone bumper. The Magnite is also set to be the first model in India to sport the new Nissan logo.

Interior

The interior too is quite close to the concept with a large, centrally-mounted 8” touchscreen and layered dashboard with hexagonal AC vents.

Powertrain

The Nissan Magnite will be available with two engine options. The first will be the 1.0L Energy series, 3 cylinder Naturally aspirated engine from the Renault Triber, producing 72PS Power through a 5 speed manual gearbox. The second powertrain will be a new HRA0 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit producing around 100PS (97bhp) of power and 160Nm of torque which will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission option as well as an X-TRONIC CVT automatic gearbox.

The new HRA0 1.0 3 cylinder turbocharged engine will get mirror bore cylinder coating technology from its legendary sport's car Nissan GT-R which will help to reduce the resistance inside the powertrain and also it will increase the overall efficiency of the engine.

The XE variant will be available only with the 1.0L naturally aspirated engine.

Pricing and launch:

The new Nissan Magnite will be launched with pricing by early December 2020.

All-new Nissan Magnite Compact SUV Expected Price will start from 5.5 lakh and the top-spec Turbo Petrol CVT variant will go up to 9.55 Lakh.

What's so special about Ford cars in India?

Not only this, We’ve mostly seen that cars from Ford India often offer safety features like 6 airbags, ARP, TCS, etc to even cars like the Freestyle! That says a lot about what the brand really prioritises on. We haven’t even moved onto the service costs yet because we feel that would be off topic.

With so many different choices in the market today and in this ever ending race between manufacturers to be on the top, what is often left behind is the essence of driving. Sadly, items like large infotainment systems, sunroof, projector head lamps, etc are features that are considered a priority by consumers while cars that offer an excellent driving experience with other satisfactory features are being ignored. To petrol heads like us, this is a worrying trend indeed. It is easy to find cars that go fast and have all the latest features. But it is indeed difficult to find great cars today that offer a blend of both worlds. Enthusiastic drivers and drivers’ cars then, are indeed endangered species.

Toyota Innova Crysta Facelift Launched in India at 16.26 lakh

The new Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 facelift has been finally launched in India. The Innova is one of the best-selling MPVs in India with over 8.80 lakh units sold till date since it's launch in 2005. The new facelift of the second generation Innova Crysta was launched in Indonesia a few months ago and now it has been finally launched in India starting from Rs.16.26L (Ex-showroom).

Exterior:

The new Innova Crysta Facelift gets cosmetic updates and new features while the mechanicals remains exactly the same. The front receives a significant makeover. The dual

chrome-slatted front grille has now been replaced by a bold trapezoidal piano-black grille with chrome surrounds on either side. The headlamps have also been slightly redesigned and now it gets new daytime-running LEDs. The fog lamp assembly is redesigned along with new sharp front bumpers and faux skid plates. These updates make the Innova's fascia resemble that of the New Toyota Hilux pickup.

The new BS6 Innova Crysta Facelift also gets a new Sparkling Black Crystal Shine shade for the exterior.

The side profile and rear of the new facelifted Innova Crysta doesn’t get any major changes except for the slightly different tail lamp detailing and the new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Interior:

Innova Crysta Facelift Get's Android Auto and Apple Carplay

The interior design and layout of the Crystal remains exactly the same as before except for the new all-black theme. However, the top-spec ZX trim gets a new Camel Tan colour for the upholstery. Additionally, there is an all-new Smart Playcast 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The instrument cluster has also been redesigned and it now gets front clearance SONAR with indication on the MID for improved safety. The new Innova Crysta Facelift will be still available with both, a seven-seater as well as an eight-seater option

Powertrains:

The engine and transmission options remain unchanged. The BS6-compliant 2.7L petrol engine produces 166PS of power and 245Nm of peak torque. The 2.4L diesel engine produces 150 PS of power and 360 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Variants and Prices:

The new facelifted Innova Crysta will be available in three trim levels, namely the GX, VX and ZX. Pricing for the new 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta Facelift starts at Rs.16.26L (ex-showroom) for the GX petrol and goes all the way up to Rs.24.33L (Ex-showroom) for the ZX Diesel Automatic.
